Jamshedpur: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday received a courtesy call from Professor (Dr.) Goutam Sutradhar, Director of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur, at the Chief Minister’s residential office on Kanke Road in Ranchi. During the meeting, the NIT Director formally invited the Chief Minister to attend the institute’s 15th Convocation Ceremony as a special guest.
The convocation ceremony is scheduled to be held on December 29, 2025. Prof. Sutradhar informed the Chief Minister that the gracious presence of the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, is proposed as the Chief Guest for the prestigious academic event.
The Director also briefed the Chief Minister about the preparations being made for the convocation and shared that around one thousand students from various academic disciplines will be awarded degrees on the occasion.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren enquired about the arrangements and progress of the preparations and conveyed his best wishes to the institute for the smooth and successful conduct of the convocation ceremony. The interaction reflected the state government’s continued support for higher education and academic excellence in Jharkhand.
