Nishant leads after Round 6 of India Open School Chess Tournament

Jamshedpur, August 17: After the end of the 6th round the top seeded and the last year champion Nishant Kumar Rating 1915 of Rajendra Vidyalaya, Jamshedpur beat Ritabroto Ganguly Rating 1768 of West Bengal who was unbeaten.

In the 4th move both of them exchanged their queen and latter on in the 26th & 27th move both the Rook was exchanged. Both the players were playing safe game and choose to play in minor pieces ending with white had two knight & one Bishop and Black had two bishop & one knight.

But in the 40th move black did mistake with wrong planning and judgment exchange the dark color Bishop with Knight and lost in 49th move.

Therefore, six players leading with 5 points after the end of sixth Round are Nishant Kumar 1915 of Jharkhand, Nikhil Singh 1638 of Jharkhand, Ritabroto Ganguly 1768 of West Bengal, Pracheta Agarwal 1368 of Jharkhand, Aayush Agarwal 1594 of Jharkhand and Arka Sengupta, 1718 of West Bengal.

In the seventh round first will play against second, third will play against fourth and fifth will play against sixth.

The closing ceremony will be on August 18.
