Ranchi, June 26: Nikon India, 100% subsidiary of Nikon Corporation Tokyo, today organized Photo-Seminar mentored by Padma Shri awardee, Raghu Rai, in Ranchi. The seminar aimed at sharing the photography journey of Raghu Rai.
During the seminar Rai showcased his work done on eastern part of the country. The photography journey and story behind each photograph was an awe-inspiring experience for all the participants. The special focus was on his legendary book � Calcutta.
Raghu Rai is an Indian photographer and photojournalist. Being one of the most renowned personalities in the photography domain, he started his journey in 1965, and joined The Statesman in the following year as the publication�s chief photographer. Impressed by an exhibit of his work in Paris in 1971, Henri Cartier-Bresson nominated Rai to join Magnum Photos in 1977.
Rai has specialized in extensive coverage of India. He has produced more than 18 books, including Raghu Rai�s Delhi, The Sikhs, Calcutta, Khajuraho, Taj Mahal, Tibet in Exile, India, and Mother Teresa.
