Dhanbad, June, 26: Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI) endeavours to empower and enhance the employability of people in and around Tata Power�s operational areas with industry-ready skills, especially in the power and allied sectors. TPSDI has five skilling hubs across India and its hub at Maithon near Dhanbad in Jharkhand trained 3258 people in the previous financial year from April 2018-March 2019.
Jayvadan Mistry, Chief, TPSDI, elaborated on TPSDI�s role and vision, �India�s economic growth is directly linked to the steady growth of the power sector. Through TPSDI, Tata Power seeks extend its contribution to the community by enabling easy access to market-driven and employment-oriented skills training to individuals. TPSDI�s progress over the years will continue with our efforts and vision of ensuring a substantial -well-skilled workforce in the Indian power sector.�
TPSDI across its five training hubs, in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Jharkhand has trained 16,483 people in FY19 across 119 courses. TPSDI also arranged for placements with various employers for 92% of its eligible trainees which is a testimony to the relevance of the Institute�s claim of training people in industry-ready and employable skills.
