Newly constructed Ram Mandir at Jamshedpur’s Surya Dham

Idol of Shri Ram to be installed during week long rituals from Feb 22

Jamshedpur, Feb 03: The idol of Lord Shri Ram will be installed at the newly constructed Ram Mandir in the Surya Mandir complex at Sidgora. Religious proceedings will be held between February 22 and 28. Ram Katha will be organized on the occasion. Patron and former Chief Minister Raghubar Das will be the host of the religious ceremonies.

Giving detailed information during a press meet convened today the Surya Mandir committee president Sanjiv Singh, senior members Dinesh Kumar, Gunjan Yadav and Pawan Agrawal said that Shri Ram Katha will be held in the temple complex between February 22 and 28. They stated that as a means to seek the people�s assistance for the Pran Pratishtha event, the committee will hand out one lakh invitations to citizens and collect donations of Rs 10 each from every home. Manas Marmagya and Atul Krishna Bharadwaj will recite the Ram Katha daily on the occasion from 4 pm. The yagna will be performed by priest Vijay Prakash Maharaj who will be arriving from Ayodhya.

Pran Pratishtha

The committee representatives further informed that at 8:30 am on February 24, a Kalash Yatra will be taken out. The procession members will collect water from River Swarnrekha banks and return to the Ram Mandir in Surya Mandir complex.

The Adhivas will be performed on February 25 and 26. The idol of Lord Shri Ram will be worshipped with water, aromatic essence, flowers, paddy grains, medicinal herbs and fruits on this day.

On February 27 at 3 pm, a huge procession of devotees will be taken out along with the idol of Lord Ram along with well decorated floats and will traverse the areas in and around Sidgora. The procession will be led by Raghubar Das.

Lord Shri ram�s idol will be installed amidst Vedic chants in the temple on February 28 and with the seven day programme will conclude with traditional rituals. Bhog will be distributed among devotees on February 29 at the Temple complex.
