Ranchi: A major step in improving travel convenience for devotees and tourists, a new direct flight service between Deoghar and Mumbai began today. This new route will cut down the travel time between the two cities to just 2 hours and 40 minutes, operating three days a week.
Deoghar, famous for the Baba Baidyanath Dham, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, has long been a hub for religious tourism. The addition of this flight will make it easier for the thousands of devotees who visit the temple annually, especially during the peak month of Sawan. “Now, devotees can complete their pilgrimage with greater convenience, saving both time and effort,” said Godda MP Nishikant Dubey, who announced that additional flights to Guwahati and Hyderabad from Deoghar will commence in the New Year.
The cost of traveling on the Deoghar-Mumbai route has been fixed at Rs 8,591 for passengers flying from Deoghar to Mumbai and Rs 8,400 for the return journey. This affordable pricing aims to provide easy access to the religious sites of Deoghar. The Deoghar Airport, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in July 2022, has already seen direct flights from cities such as Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Patna, and Ranchi, further boosting Deoghar’s connectivity.
