Ranchi: In the inaugural session of the centenary year celebrations organized on the completion of 100 years of Rinpas, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said on Thursday that many changes will be seen soon in Ranchi Institute of Neuro Psychiatry and Allied Science (Rinpas).
He said that the infrastructure and educational system will be strengthened in Rinpas. The shortcomings will be reviewed in detail and removed. The state government will take necessary steps in this direction so that mental patients get better facilities here, there is proper arrangement for their treatment in a modern way.
The Chief Minister said that in today’s time the role of institutions like Rinpas is increasing rapidly.
“ The way people are falling prey to mental depression, it is very important to provide them better counselling and treatment facilities. Although no one would want to come to an institute like Rinpas, but mental problems, compulsions and circumstances force many people to come here. The best possible treatment arrangements will be made here so that the mentally ill who come here go back completely healthy,”said Soren.
The Chief Minister laid special emphasis on the fact that we will have to move forward in the direction of using the most modern technologies in the treatment of people suffering from mental problems. Whatever digital medical technology is needed to solve the mental problems of patients in Rinpas, it will be made available.
The Chief Minister expressed concern over the fact that many relatives leave their patients here and go away and then never come to pick them up. Many times, mentally ill are kept imprisoned in different ways in their homes, which is not good for our family and society. We cannot imagine what the mental state of the mentally ill would be in such a situation. In such a situation, serious initiatives need to be taken to ensure that our facilities reach the patients suffering from mental problems with ease and simplicity.
In the ceremony, retired directors of Rinpas Dr PK Chakraborty, Dr NN Agarwal, Dr Ashok Kumar Prasad, Dr Ashok Kumar Nag and Dr KK Singh, retired medical superintendent Dr Praveen Kumar, retired faculty members Dr AN Verma and Dr KC Sengar were felicitated for their important service and contribution.
