New bike kills 60 year-old near Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, June 18: A 60 year-old man, identified as Satyanarayan Tanti, died in a road mishap in Seraikela on Friday evening. The mishap occurred when a speeding motorcycle knocked him down. The bike was new and moving at breakneck speed, sources said.

The collision was so powerful that Tanti was thrown several feet away on the PCC road and sustained serious head injury. He was taken to Seraikela Sadar Hospital where doctors referred him to Tata Main Hospital. He died during treatment.

Sources said the bike owner left the vehicle at the scene before fleeing. There was no registration number on the bike. However cops found out that the bike owner was a resident of Bhadrudih village, sources said.

Two injured as bike skids in Seraikela

Two youths were injured in a road accident near Kankda More on the Seraikela-Kandra main road late Friday night. Identified as Amit Kumar (22) and Chandan Rai (26), they were taken to Sadar Hospital, Seraikela, and later referred to MGM Hospital where their condition was reportedly serious, sources said.

Sources said the youths were returning home from Seraikela Market when their bike skidded on the wet road near Kankda More. The two sustained serious head injuries in the incident. They are natives of Sitamarhi (Bihar) who work at a local brick kiln.
