Jamshedpur, July 28: Tata Steel observed the closing ceremony of the Ethics Month 2015 on Monday at Steelenium Hall inside Works.
The day marked the end of a month-long event to commemorate the values of integrity, unity, excellence, understanding and responsibility – hallmark of the Tata Group and its former Chairman, J R D Tata.
The occasion was graced by the presence of T V Narendran, MD, Tata Steel, India and SEA, and R Ravi Prasad, President, Tata Workers’ Union as chief guest and guest of honour, respectively.
Corporate Ethics, each year, commemorates the month of July as the Ethics Month. In keeping with this tradition and as an interesting move to inculcate ethical practices at work, a series of events such as Poster competition, Skit, Quiz, Debate, Round Table Discussions etc were organised for the employees of the Company across all its operational locations.
The ceremony began with the presentation of Ethics pledge board to Narendran and Ravi Prasad by the Departmental Ethics Coordinators of Tata Steel followed by prize distribution ceremony for the various events. On the occasion, two skits were also performed by teams from Technology Department and OMQ.
Speaking on the occasion, Narendran said ‘Ethics at Tata Steel is a result of commitment and high level of moral conduct of its employees across all levels for over 100 years. The value that our employees pursue also impacts the business of the Company. We must ensure we do not compromise in ethical responsibilities of the company’.
Ravi Prasad motivated the employees to work in tandem, and inculcate ethics as a personality trait. On the occasion, senior officials as well as Managing Directors of Tata Steel Group Companies in Jamshedpur were also present.
