NCL extends ban on HEC for work delay; Financial woes deepen

Ranchi: Amidst the ongoing financial turmoil faced by Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC), a new setback has emerged as the National Coal Limited (NCL) extended the ban period by six months. This extension comes in response to HEC’s failure to complete work on time, raising concerns about the issuance of a significant work order worth Rs 450 crore by NCL.

Sources reveal that during a recent visit to HEC, the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) instructed officials to engage in discussions with NCL authorities regarding the matter. The delay in work completion has prompted NCL to extend the ban period, posing potential difficulties for HEC in securing the crucial work order.
The last date for tender submission was set for December 25, prompting HEC to request a three-week extension through written correspondence. The extension, if granted, could provide HEC with additional time to fulfill the tender requirements.
