Naxalite violence victim yet to get compensation, issue raised at Jan Samvad

Ranchi, March 28: While reviewing complaints registered with Mukhyamantri Jan Samvad, Secretary to CM Sunil Kumar Barnwal today took serious note of the delay in payment of compensation to the dependents of Yogendra Nath Tudu of Hansakocha, Saraikela- Kharsawan, who was killed by Naxalites in 2014. Tudu’s dependents are yet to get job on compassionate ground.

Hearing the complaint, Barnwal directed the state authorities concerned to write to the Home Secretary in this regard to find the reason for the delay and identify the officials responsible for the same.

Regarding the repair of an old school building at Tudurama, Barnwal directed the district nodal officers to get the matter probed by a magistrate. He instructed the officials to close the old scheme and get the building repaired under new scheme. The rejuvenation work was started 10 years ago and it could not be completed because of the contractor’s slackness, Barnwal was told.

The Secretary to the CM also directed the officials concerned to get the matter of Mandu BDO probed by the ADC or DCLR in connection with Sabita Devi’s land encroachment at Anandpuri colony, Hazaribag.

Regarding illegal felling of trees at Dokwa and Echatu forests of Chatra, Barnwal directed the nodal officer to ask the DFO why no action was taken in this connection after 1and ½ years of complaint lodging. He directed the Koderma nodal officer to approve one Badri Modi’s old age pension and transfer it in her bank account.

Barnwal also asked the authorities concerned to show-cause the nodal officer of Women, Children and Social Welfare Department for not remaining present at the meeting.

Officers who will not show diligence in a week will be subjected to departmental action. He directed the officials to make a report of unsatisfactory reports and review them so that action can be taken on faulty nodal officers.
