Ranchi, March 28: Addressing a huge gathering at the Morabadi ground, Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that Nilamber Pitamber University will be established on the premises of GLA College in Palamu. The foundation stone for the university will be laid in July, he said.
“The process to start an engineering and polytechnic college at Lesliganj has kick-started. The government is committed to pay due honour to the brave martyrs of Jharkhand. This is why the government has decided to develop the villages of martyrs as ‘Aadarsh Gaon’ (model village). Their portraits will be hung in the Legislative Assembly after permission from the Speaker,” said the CM after unveiling a statue of Nilamber-Pitamber. The CM also inaugurated Oxygen Park at the venue.
The CM said that development of the state and its people will not be complete without education. The government has provisioned Rs 50 crore and started a fellowship programme for supporting the education of poor and under-privileged people. Under the fellowship scheme, Rs. 10 crore has been provisioned, said the CM.
Das appealed to Kharwar people to help the government educate their children. He said the government will guarantee bank loans for the education of their children.
“The government will start libraries in all panchayats. Libraries will be started in 2202 panchayats in the first phase in 2017-18 and as many will be started in the second phase in 2018-19. He said the government is committed to uplift the poor and marginalized sections,” he said.
MLAs Jitu Charan Ram and Jay Prakash Bhokta along with officials of Kharwar Bhokta Vikash Kendriya Samiti were present on the occasion.
