Nationwide Gau Samman Abhiyan to be launched, devotees to gather in Jamshedpur on April 27

Jamshedpur: A nationwide awareness campaign titled Gau Samman Abhiyan is set to be launched across India, with Jamshedpur gearing up for a large gathering of cow devotees at the Dhalbhum Sub-Divisional Office on April 27.

The campaign aims to mobilize public support for stronger cow protection measures and to press for a nationwide law ensuring the safety and conservation of cattle. A key demand of the movement is to grant the status of “Rashtra Mata” (Mother of the Nation) to cows.

Details of the initiative were shared during a press conference held on Saturday, where organizers emphasized that the campaign would be carried out simultaneously across multiple states. On April 27, similar gatherings are planned at sub-divisional offices nationwide, where participants will submit memorandums to local authorities.

Organizers highlighted the cultural and traditional significance of cows in Indian society, stating that they are deeply embedded in the country’s heritage and way of life. They expressed concern over rising incidents of cattle smuggling, slaughter, and cruelty, calling for urgent and effective legal intervention.

In Jamshedpur, the main programme will see participation from cow devotees, social workers, and members of various religious and community organizations. A memorandum outlining their demands will be submitted to the Sub-Divisional Officer during the event.

Apart from pressing for policy changes, the campaign also seeks to raise awareness among citizens about the importance of cow protection. Organizers said that outreach programmes, public meetings, and awareness drives will be conducted at multiple levels as part of the initiative.

Appealing for maximum participation, the organizers urged residents to join the gathering in large numbers and contribute to making the campaign impactful. They expressed confidence that collective public support would help amplify their message and push for meaningful action.
