National Lok Adalat disposes 1134 cases, collects Rs 1.37 crore

Chaibasa, July 8: National Lok Adalat was held under the aegis of National Legal Service Authority at Chaibasa court on Saturday. It was chaired by the district judge who was accompanied by the chairman of NLSA Manoranjan Kavi and secretary Rajendra Kumar Singh.

A total of 1134 disputes were settled with penalty and recovery of Rs 1.37 crore.

As many as six benches were constituted during the National Lok Adalat. They were led by Maonoranjan Kumar Singh, Ramjivan chief judicial magistrate, Rajendra Kumar Singh deputy judicial magistrate, Arjun Sao sub-divisional magistrate porahat, Lusi Sosen Tigga Judicial magistrate, Dilip Rajeswar Tirkey railway judicial magistrate and member District motor vehicle officer, labour superintendent, electricity department executive engineer , excise superintendent Resma Dundung and district auction department officer.

Punita Devi and other claimants were given Rs 4 lakh in cheque out of motor vehicles accident claim in lokadalat. Three family court cases were settled amicably. A total of 51 cases were settled in the court of chief judicial magistrate, chaibasa, in which Rs 45,000 was collected as penalty whereas 24 disputes were settled in sub chief judicial magistrate court and collected Rs 32,000 as penalty.

A total of 48 disputes were settled in railway cases and Rs 69,000 was collected as penalty while 12 cases were settled in sub divisional magistrate court related disputes in which Rs 14,500 was collected as penalty. As many as 18 cases were also settled in sub divisional magistrate court porahat and Rs 106000 was collected.

In BSNL related cases, 60 disputes were settled and Rs 1.72 lakh was collected as penalty. In electricity cases, 39 pre-litigation cases were settled and Rs 2.24 lakh was collected as penalty.

Bank loan cases numbering 573 were settled and Rs 1.18 crore was recovered from defaulters. Two disputes under Jagannathpur sub divisional magistrate were also settled.
