NASI to give Best Science Teacher Award

Jamshedpur, Jan. 19 : Recognizing the importance of the role of science teachers in promoting the overall interest of students in science, especially in the X and XII standard, the Jharkhand State Chapter of The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) has instituted an award, named �The Best Science Teacher Award� since 2017.

Objective of instituting the Award is to recognize a teacher every year, teaching science in High Schools/Higher Secondary Schools/Intermediate Colleges and other equivalent institutions, for distinction achieved by him/her in stimulating students to express their talent in and understanding of science, specially through participation in co-curricular and out-of-the-class room science activities.

It needs to be highlighted that it is a purely nomination based entry for the award. Principals can nominate maximum two teachers from their schools in each category. January 28th, 2017 is the last date for the submission of nomination. Duly filled nominations with annexures, in the form of hard copy, can be submitted to Head, Advanced Materials & Processes Division, CSIR-NML, Jamshedpur; while sot copies can be mailed to: arvind@nmlindia.org.
