Narbheram Hansraj English School girls get self-defence training

Jamshedpur, June 23: In a tech savvy and loveless environment, where people have lost respect for human values and where crime is on the rise, the security of children, especially girls, has become a matter of concern.

At a time when cases of violence against women are on the rise, Narbheram Hansraj English School felt it is imperative to train girl students for self-defence. The SAFE Club of the school organized training session. Students were taught techniques of Self-defence by Karate coach Niraj Kumar.

Niraj gave a demonstration on some basic self-defence techniques to the students so that they can use them to counter catcalls, eve-teasing and other crimes of similar nature.

He also gave tips to girl students on how to defend themselves against attacks at home and outside homes – when going to school, tuitions, malls and other public places.

School Principal Paramita Roy Chaudhaury expressed her concern at the growing rate of crime against children and said, “Students need to become wise and learn to protect themselves against unsocial elements.”
