Jamshedpur, April 12: Amidst on going lockdown in the city, social outfit Naman is feeding the poor. From past 13 days the organisation is reaching in the fringe areas and serving healthy food to them. The organisation under the leadership of Amarpreet Singh Kale, has been working to serve food in areas like Ulidih, Jugsalai, Sonari, Manifit, Dimna Road, Sakchi and other areas. The initiative aims to help the needy contractual workers, labourers, locals and families during the coronavirus lockdown.
In order to maintain social distancing, people were standing in white circles drawn at a certain distance while waiting for their turn to get the food prepared by Naman. Those serving food to the needy had also covered their faces and hands using masks and gloves as a precautionary measure.
We are maintaining the norms of social distancing while we are serving the food . Our priority is to ensure that food served is hygienic. We have identified several areas in the city where the food is being distributed. We have also trained our volunteers about hygiene and social distancing, said Kale.
