Jamshedpur, Dec 23: At the sixth national executive body meeting of Mahila Vikas Manch (MVM) held in Rajgir, the Kolhan president of the organization, Nishat Khatun was honored with the Best Performance Award for her dedicated efforts towards women’s emancipation. Other MVM members were also honoured for exemplary contribution for women’s uplift in various fields.
The national executives meet was presided by patron Bina Manvi. National chairperson PK Chowdhary inaugurated the meeting’s proceedings. In his address, Chowdhary observed, “The purpose of the organization is to make efforts towards women’s self dependence. The organization is committed to stand by women who are victims of harassment, exploitation and injustice and fight for their cause until justice is meted out to them. Efforts are constantly being made by MVM in every state, every region and every district to empower women so that they can become self dependent and live with head held high in the family and in the community. The organization is also moving ahead on the education front for education is the platform to launch progress and development.”
The vote of thanks was offered by MVM Bihar president Usha Sinha. Among others present were Arunima, Fahima, Saroj Jaiswal, Dr Tara Shweta, Pankaj Singh and Nishi Jaiswal.
