SDO moves around Ghatshila at midnight distributing blankets among pavement dwellers

Jamshedpur, Dec 23: A heartwarming humanitarian effort in the bitter cold midnight of Tuesday, Ghatshila SDO Satyaveer Rajak was seen moving around Ghatshila personally distributing blankets to pavement dwellers at Haat Bazaars, bus stand, Station Chowk and other localities where the homeless braved the winter chill with torn clothes and equally pathetic wrappers under the sky. These children of a lesser god, at first, felt that it was a pleasant dream until they realized the warmth that arrived as manna through messiah Satyaveer Rajak, the Ghatshila SDO. To these people sleeping on shredded gunny bags, it was nothing less than the appearance of an angel to sooth their rattling bones.

The SDO also visited some hospitals and nursing homes to check on the patients and gave away blankets to many of them too. Shaurya Chakra Awardee Md Javed, Prof Indal Paswan and Dr Shankar Singh accompanied the SDO during the midnight blanket distribution drive. People from all segments of society were full of praise for the SDO. Md Javed observed, “People should come forward to help their less fortunate brethren. But, the people of Ghatshila are well known for helping one another out during times of distress.”
