Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Music Circle and Sangeet Kala KendraTube Baridih jointly organized a musical tribute to late Kaveri Dutta of the Kirana Gharana who was a successful exponent of Indian classical music and Bhajan. She also taught vocal music. A Tribute to Kaveri was a heartfelt expression through performances of classical songs.
After offering flowers at her portrait, all present observed a two minute silence as prayers for the peace of her soul.
Her neighbor Achintam Gupta while remembering Kaveri said that they knew each other through three decades. To make her self-dependent, I introduced her to Gita Tiwary who acted like her guardian and it was unstinted efforts that paved the way for Kaveri to make a name for herself in the domain of music, ruminated Achintam Gupta.
Anindita Gupta, Sujan Chatterjee, Birendra Upadhyay and Master Rauhik Bagchi performed classical songs and bhajans. Amitabh Sen and Shyama Chakraborty on tabla and Ashok Das on flute lent accompaniment to the singers.
