Jamshedpur BJP leaders welcome Delhi HC order in anti-Sikh riots case

Sikh leaders demand capital punishment for convicts

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Mahanagar BJP leaders distributed sweets to celebrate the Delhi High Court decision awarding life imprisonment to Congress leader Sajjan Kumar in 1984 anti-Sikh riots case on Monday. They accused the Congress of being anti-Sikh for making Kamal Nath the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.

In a press statement issued today, the district BJP president said the Delhi HC decision was testimony to the fact that the party was involved in the merciless killings of Sikhs in 1984.

Welcoming the court order, BJP leaders and supports distributed laddoos at Kharangajhar Chowk and raised anti-Congress slogans. Members of Sikh Youth Brigade were also present on this occasion.

District BJP spokesperson Ankit Anand said the Congress should explain as to why did it name Kamal Nath, an accused in the anti-Sikh riots, as Madhya Pradesh CM.
Those present on the occasion included Pappu Mishra, DD Tripathy, Ranjeet Pandey and Pankaj Mishra.
