Ranchi: Addressing the mukhiyas and panchayat sevaks of Palamu and Santhal Pargana through Webcasting, Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that self governance was propounded by our political leaders of yesteryears with the aim to formulate schemes as per the people’s requirements and implement them in the interest of the people and the nation.
“The dreams of Mahatma Gandhi will be implemented through eradication of poverty from the state. Panchayat sevaks will play an important role in it. They are being provided necessary formats from the Rural Development Department to survey families in the villages.
They will consider the widows, unemployed, landless and homeless people and provide their record to the government through mukhiyas. The government will give pension and houses to the widows and educate the children,” said the CM.
Addressing the mukhiyas, the CM said that funds received from 14th Finance Commission and auction of sand piers will be used in making the areas ODF. “The panchayats should compete with one another in respect of making their panchayats ODF and addiction free. In the days to come, panchayats will be given more responsibilities regarding development of the area,” he said.
Das said the unemployed youths will be provided a platform in the form of cottage industry in their villages as per the list received. He directed the swayamsevaks to make a list of cowherds. Dung can be used in making organic fertilizer and bio-gas plants, he said.
