Jamshedpur: Poor and needy people suffering from cancer may soon get treatment facilities at the Meharbai Tata Cancer Hospital (MTMH). The hospital is soon going to be linked to the Ayushman Bharat scheme, sources said.
Distict health officials said the hospital has applied to the nodal officer-cum-District Civil Surgeon for joining the panel of hospitals providing free treatment to the beneficiaries. The formalities are likely to be completed in two or three days. MTMH will arguably become the first Tata group hospital to get linked to the Ayushman Bharat scheme, officials said.
Officials said the cancer patients would be given golden cards and sent to MTMH for free treatment. MTMH will soon get 72 bed facility after its ongoing expansion. Every month, around 60-70 new cancer patients visit the hospital, sources said.
