MoU for maternal and child health services in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: In a significant step towards strengthening healthcare in the district, the East Singhbhum District Administration signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sri Sathya Sai Sanjivani Hospital, Jamshedpur, in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi. The agreement aims to enhance maternal and child health services, particularly in the remote areas of Musabani block.

As part of the MoU, initiatives such as timely antenatal checkups, identification of high-risk pregnancies, safe deliveries including cesarean procedures, infant vaccinations, malnutrition prevention, postnatal care, and awareness programs for adolescent girls will be undertaken. Additionally, free surgical assistance will be extended to children suffering from congenital heart disease.

Sri Sathya Sai Sanjivani Hospital, in collaboration with the Health Department, will conduct health awareness campaigns, capacity-building workshops, and special camps. The goal of this initiative is to reduce maternal and infant mortality in Musabani, an aspirational block, and ensure that no mother or child is deprived of essential healthcare facilities.

The MoU, effective from 25 July 2025, will remain in force for an initial period of two years. Civil Surgeon Dr. Sahir Pal and representatives from Sri Sathya Sai Sanjivani Hospital were present during the signing ceremony.
