GRP Recovers Unidentified Man’s Body at Tatanagar Rly Station

Jamshedpur: Government Railway Police officials found the body of an unidentified man near the station’s parking pathway.

Passengers first noticed the deceased—estimated to be around 55 years old—and immediately alerted on-duty railway staff. The Government Railway Police (GRP) promptly reached the scene to initiate a preliminary investigation.


Investigation and Identification Efforts

Police have shifted the body for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Currently, the GRP has registered a case of unnatural death.

“We are working to establish the identity of the deceased,” a GRP official stated.

To assist in the identification, authorities have alerted nearby police stations and are actively verifying missing persons records. Police will hand over the body to the family once they complete legal formalities and confirm the individual’s identity.


Concerns Over Station Safety

While the cause of death remains unclear, authorities are investigating all possible angles, including natural causes. The incident has sparked fresh concerns among daily commuters regarding the adequacy of safety and surveillance throughout the Tatanagar station premises.
