Jamshedpur: Acting on a tip-off, Sonari police achieved a significant breakthrough against drug trafficking, arresting four individuals — including a woman — with brown sugar near Dobo Bridge on Marine Drive.
According to police sources, the operation was carried out late on April 1 around 10:30 pm after receiving information about suspected drug trade activity in the area. Following directions from the Senior Superintendent of Police, a special team led by the DSP (Headquarters-2) conducted a swift raid.
During the search, police recovered 43 packets of brown sugar weighing approximately 5 grams, along with Rs 6,000 in cash. The arrested individuals have been identified as Bharti Kaivart, Vishal Kaivart, Rishabh Sahu, and Kumar Bahadur.
All accused have been sent to judicial custody. Police officials said further investigation is underway to uncover the larger network involved in the illegal trade.
