Jamshedpur: Mother�s Day was celebrated with fervour at Vivekananda International School in Old Purulia Road, Mango, on Saturday. The students expressed their affection for mothers through songs, dance and plays.
The chief guest of the occasion was the chairperson of Jharkhand State Women�s Commissioner Kalyani Sharan. She said mothers played a vital role in the development of society and the nation. She stressed the need for educating girls and women and giving them skills.
The school Principal Dr Nidhi Srivastav spoke on the duties of mothers and the significant roles played by them in society.
Among others present during the programme included Nida Afreen, Sadia, Devshri, Mansi Chatterjee, Durga Das, Shakha, Ruposhree, Rupa, Jyoti, Rachita, Mala and Geeta.
