Jamshedpur, Feb 17: The Railway Flying Squad successfully foiled the plans of a thief intending to commit theft within the premises of Tatanagar station. The team apprehended Ravi Kumar from Aurangabad at 3 am on Saturday while he was loitering on platforms 2-3 with the intent to commit theft. A search revealed that Ravi Kumar had four stolen mobile phones, three of which did not have SIM cards. The Flying Squad promptly arrested him and subsequently sent him to judicial custody.
The Flying Squad, comprising Balbir Prasad, Head Constable Mahendra Pratap Yadav, Saroj Kumar, Constable Ravi Kumar, and Shivam Sisodia, were conducting patrols in the early hours of Saturday when they noticed a young man near the foot over bridge of platform 2-3. Suspecting his activities, the team apprehended him, leading to the recovery of four mobile phones during the search. Ravi Kumar, upon interrogation, disclosed that he hailed from Ramnagar in the Mufassil police station area of Aurangabad. He admitted to stealing two mobile phones at Ranchi station and was in Tatanagar station with the intention of stealing more. The estimated value of the recovered phones from Ravi is Rs 98 thousand.
