Mobile Thief Arrested at Tatanagar Railway Station

Jamshedpur: Under the ongoing “Operation Yatri Suraksha” initiative to secure rail passengers and curb crime on railway premises, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested a mobile thief and recovered a stolen mobile phone.

The joint team received information that someone had stolen a passenger’s mobile phone. The RPF and GRP teams identified a suspect using the station’s CCTV camera network. They caught the accused red-handed.

The arrested individual has been identified as 40-year-old Pintu Ram, a resident of Kitadih, Bagbera, Jamshedpur. During interrogation, officers recovered the stolen mobile phone from his possession. The investigation revealed that the accused stole the phone from a passenger at Tatanagar station during the night and was attempting to flee the spot.

RPF officials stated that they handed over the accused to the Tatanagar Railway Police Station (GRP). The GRP is currently interrogating him to determine if he has links to an organized theft gang and to check his past criminal record.

Railway officials have urged passengers to remain vigilant about their belongings and mobile phones during their journey. They advised commuters to report any suspicious person or activity to the RPF helpline (139) or nearby railway security personnel.
