Jamshedpur, Dec 16: A group of 50 Motilal Nehru Public School (MNPS) students accompanied by teachers Chaitali Mondal and Swaraj Chowdhury visited the CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML) as part of the CSIR-Jigyasa programme. It may be mentioned that the main objective of the programme was to establish a practical connect between the teachers and students thereby making learning science interesting and encouraging the participation of students to develop innovative scientific content on a virtual platform.
Dr Aniket Dutt, Project Scientist from KRIT Division of CSIR-NML delivered the welcome address wherein he introduced CSIR-NML as one of the leading research organizations in India, functioning with the help of five core and three support R&D Divisions. Dr Dutt said, “All R&D activities at CSIR-NML are focused on technology development in the areas of minerals, metals, materials, and metallurgy.”
The Jigyasa team answered all queries of the MNPS students-teachers team. Seeing their interest, they were suggested to subscribe to the YouTube channel of the Jigyasa program.
The day-long MNPS team tour included visits to some research laboratories, workshops, and KRIT Division and the CSIR-NML museum and library. The team expressed happiness with the overall experience.
