Little Flower School concludes NEP-2020 vocational training for 460 students

Jamshedpur, Dec 16: In adherence to the National education Policy 2020, Little Flower School (LFS) had embarked on a new journey of investing in vocational skills training, which was inaugurated and launched on 23 July 2022, providing education beyond the walls of the classroom and enabling the students to create and shape their own destiny.

Little Flower has always been a pioneer in implementing NEP at the basic level. Thus, with the strong support of the Principal Sr. Hilda D’Souza, the School Counsellor Ranita Karmakar designed a ten hour bagless course for the students of Classes 6, 7 and 8. The main objective of this venture was to provide the students an in-depth understanding of seven vocational training courses including – Artificial Intelligence, Automobile Technology, Handicraft, Horticulture, Electrical Technology, Mass Media and Designing.

Encompassing 460 students as the target group, this pilot project was successfully planned, executed and completed by a team of fifteen extremely dedicated and enthusiastic teachers, who played a pivotal role in carrying out this great initiative, alongwith the unstinting support of Tata Cummins, Tata Power and Tata Motors.

The five training sessions scheduled between 23 July and 26 November 2022 were brought to a fruitful conclusion with the Closing Ceremony held on 16 December 2022. The programme was elaborately organised with the felicitation of the Chief Guest, Diyali Sengupta, a senior ex- science teacher, the Guest of Honour, Manish Jain and the entire resource personal, teacher moderators and students involved.
