Jamshedpur: In this pandemic situation to boost up the morale and enthusiasm of the children a virtual English elocution was organized on 4th October by Motilal Nehru Public School (MNPS) on the theme of ‘Happiness and Joy’. The function began with a prayer and was followed by the judges expressing their views. The judges for the event were Gurpreet Bhatia, Hon. Secretary Jeevan and a social worker and Reena Anil Vedagiri, Counselor D.B.M.S School.
They appreciated the efforts, enthusiasm and zeal of the participants and spoke highly about the organisation of the virtual program and accepting the changes readily and willingly. Their words gave a lot of encouragement and confidence to the participants. Brief but encouraging words from the principal, Ashu Tiwary enhanced the energy of the team of teachers and participants.
The contest was categorized under five categories A,B,C,D,E from classes 3 to 12. Every child participated through the virtual mode with full zeal. They took care of their pronunciation, posture, delivery of the content and choice of the piece while reciting the poem which was the criteria of judgement. The competition gave a lot of encouragement and confidence to the participants. The program was virtually well attended by the parents and participants, members of the school managing committee, teachers and other guests.
In category A- Ritu Kumari of class 4 A was the winner. In category B-Aakrity Mukherjee of class 6 B bagged the first spot. In category C-Shreyas Paul of class 7C was first. In category D- Harshita Dubey won the first place. In category E-Anshara Jahan was first.
The program ended with the vote of thanks being delivered by Sumita Mukherjee and was ably conducted by Anisha Sinha and Akshansh Ranjan.
