MNPS fosters financial literacy among students

Jamshedpur, Aug 28: Motilal Nehru Public School (MNPS) is committed to empower students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become financially literate and responsible individuals. The school has implemented various initiatives to ensure students gain a solid foundation in financial education, equipping them to make informed decisions about money management and financial planning.

 

Recognizing the importance of financial literacy in today’s fast-paced global economy, Motilal Nehru Public School has integrated financial literacy into its curriculum across all grade levels. Students of Std 9 to12 are introduced to financial concepts, including budgeting, savings, investments, banking, and credit. Through interactive and practical lessons, they learn how to set financial goals and track their expenditure.

 

The resource person for the session was Dr SS Goel, a gold medallist in Economics (Post Graduation) as well as in MBA. He served Tata Steel Management Development Centre for thirty years till 2001. Dr Goel has been a visiting faculty in some of the premiere institutions of India eg.IIT Kharagpur, NIT Jamshedpur, Coal India to name a few.

 

Principal, Ashu Tiwary expressed, “We are committed to equipping our students with the skills they need to succeed in an increasingly complex financial landscape. By fostering financial literacy, we are empowering our students to make informed choices and manage their resources effectively.”

According to a class 11 student, the program has been quite enriching and interactive”.
