Jamshedpur, Aug 28: A tree plantation drive was organized at Motilal Nehru Public School along with Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (formerly JUSCO).
Students played the role of ‘eco warriors’ and planted saplings of Ashoka & Bauhinia in school premises.
The aim is to create awareness among students, faculty and stakeholders about the importance of trees for sustainable future. It also creates green belts and meets the aesthetic recreational needs to the people.
Planting trees helps to reduce carbon emissions, mitigate climate change and conserves natural resources.
Tree Plantation drive addresses serious issues of environment likes soil erosion, CO2 emission, global warming and deforestation. Students learn from planting of trees, how they can contribute a sustainable future for better living.
The program was attended by Principal Ashu Tiwary, officials of Tata Steel, faculty, eco club members and students of std. X, XI & XII.
