Jamshedpur: Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar has demanded that compensation for the tenant farmers whose lands were acquired by the government for road projects in Potka and Dumaria should be paid immediately.
The road construction departments in Potka and Jamshedpur have been rapidly widening, strengthening, and reconstructing several important roads in the Potka and Dumaria blocks of the Potka Assembly constituency. Most of the roads are 80 to 90 percent complete, which will significantly benefit both blocks in terms of transportation in the future.
However, the tenant farmers whose land was acquired for these projects have yet to receive compensation. MLA Sanjeev Sardar informed the Jharkhand Assembly that the Block Development Officer of Potka has completed the land verification process and submitted a report to the District Land Acquisition Office. But, the tenant farmers have not yet received their statutory compensation, causing the affected farmers and villagers to feel harassed.
Speaking during the Zero Hour in the Assembly, MLA Sanjeev Sardar urged the government to immediately pay compensation for the acquired land so that the tenant farmers and villagers can receive their dues. The land of many tenants was acquired for the construction of the following roads in Potka and Dumuria blocks, for which compensation has not yet been paid.
