Jamshedpur MLA Purnima Sahu urges govt to pay PDS shopkeepers pending commission

Jamshedpur. Jamshedpur MLA Purnima Sahu raised the pending issues of Public Distribution System (PDS) shopkeepers in the Jharkhand Assembly on Tuesday. She stated that the commissions of Jamshedpur’s PDS shopkeepers have been pending for a long time which is causing them financial hardships.

Sahu stated on the floor of the Assembly that the commissions on green cards have not been paid from December 2023 to July 2025, while the commissions on gram dal and salt are pending since April 2024.

She urged the government to ensure immediate payment of all outstanding commissions. Sahu also demanded that the shopkeepers be provided with honorarium and incentives soon, so that they can smoothly operate public welfare schemes without financial pressure.

“PDS shopkeepers are a crucial link in public interest, and delays in their rights and payments are unacceptable under any circumstances. The government should take immediate action in this direction,” she said.
