MLA Purnima Sahu Demands Rehabilitation of Displaced Bhalubasa Shopkeepers

Jamshedpur: The MLA from Jamshedpur East, Purnima Sahu, is actively working to rehabilitate six shopkeepers who were affected by an anti-encroachment drive along the route from Bhalubasa Roundabout to Sitaramdera.

Sahu has sent an official letter to the District Deputy Commissioner on Monday, demanding the immediate allotment of shops so that they can restart their businesses and support their families. Copies of the letter were also forwarded to the Deputy Development Commissioner, Sub-Divisional Officer, Municipal Commissioner, and Deputy Municipal Commissioner of the Jamshedpur Utilities and Services Company/Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC).

Sahu met JNAC officials with all six affected shopkeepers and submitted relevant documents. The MLA directed the officials to expedite the shop allotment process. Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar assured that all affected vendors would be allocated shops soon. Special Officer Bishwajit Mahto has been assigned the responsibility of monitoring and coordinating the entire process. MLA Representative Gunjan Yadav was also present during the meeting.

Prompt Ground Action by the MLA

Earlier, the displaced shopkeepers had met Sahu to brief her on their plight. Upon learning about the issue, Sahu visited Bhalubasa with the shopkeepers to inspect the site and assess the ground reality. She also gathered details about the anti-encroachment drive from the concerned officials. Following the inspection, she went straight to the JNAC office to strongly advocate for the rehabilitation of the displaced shopkeepers.
