MLA meets agitating KCC loan victims

Jamshedpur : The agitation called by the 20 women of Potka block allegedly duped by frauds in the name of giving them Kisan Credit Card loan from the Union Bank of
India, Kalikapur branch, Potka, continued on the third day on Wednesday.

The MLA of Potka Menka Sardar and district president of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Ramesh Sardar met the alleged victims and inquired about their complaint and demand.

The alleged fraud victims said certain bank officials and middlemen had duped them while
giving them loan of Rs 5000 each.

The accused persons had got thumb impressions of the victims on blank papers wherein the loan amount was inflated to be Rs 15,000 to Rs 18,000.

After the fraud, now the victims have received notice from the bank for the payment of the loan amount, the victims told the MLA.

Menka Sardar and Ramesh Hansda held a meeting with the sub divisional officer of Dhalbhum Prem Ranjan who was sent to the agitation venue by the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum Dr
Amitabh Kaushal.

However no positive result of the meeting could be reached by the district administration,
sources said.
