Festivity kicks off on Feb 8
Jamshedpur, Feb 5: Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha is all set to visit the Steel city. This is the 50th year of Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha visiting Jamshedpur to spread spiritual knowledge.
For the same several events have been lined up across Jamshedpur to celebrate the occasion, this was informed jointly by Rumi Sen Gupta, Radheshyam Tiwary, Prakash Sarode and N Das through a press conference held at CIRD near Circuit House Sai Mandir on Wednesday.
They said that it is a historic landmark in this country�s heritage that a saint has been visiting the city of Jamshedpur for 50 consecutive years to enlighten people.
On Saturday 8th Feb 2014 at 6:30pm, a special programme will be held at Rabindra Bhavan, Sakchi to commemorate Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha�s 50th visit to this city.
On 9th Feb Sunday, Swami will conduct a workshop on �Vedanta in Daily Life� at the CIRD from 9:30 am at CIRD.
Later at the centre annual Vishnusahasranama Yajna will be held on 16th Feb while on 23rd Feb from 2pm, a Daana Satra will be held at Hata, near Chaibasa for 2000 people and Swami will bless all the recipients of the Daana Satra.
In 1966 the Brahma Vidya Centre was formed in a small way in Jamshedpur to organize Swami�s visits and facilitate his mission of spreading spiritual knowledge.
For half a century this organization has played a significant role in serving the needs of Jamshedpur�s citizens.
The Centre for Inner Resources Development was created a few years back to continue the activities of Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha.
It conducts spiritual discourses, classes on Vedanta, Bhagavad Geeta and other scriptures. The Centre also organizes workshops for practical application of spiritual knowledge for large numbers of participants.
Welfare activities in the form of classes for underprivileged children and Daana Satra � distribution of rice and clothing to the needy�are regularly held.
