Missing Jamshedpur youth’s body found in Dimna lake

Jamshedpur, Nov 5: The body recovered from Dimna lake under Bodam police station area on November 1 has been identified as that of 18-year-old Hansh Kumar, a resident of Shankosai Road No. 5 near JP School under Ulidih police station area.

Hansh was a student of Class XII at Karim City College.

According to reports, Hansh had been missing since the afternoon of October 30.

His family had been searching for him continuously. On Tuesday, they went to Dimna lake after local fishermen reported spotting a body in the water. The family later identified the body as Hansh’s at Bodam police station through photographs.

Police handed over the body to the family on Wednesday after post-mortem formalities were completed.

Hansh’s father, Mithilesh Sharma, is a police officer posted at Nimdih police station in Chaibasa district.

The police had recovered an unidentified male body from Dimna lake on November 1. The deceased has now been confirmed as Hansh Kumar.

Family members described Hansh as a deeply religious youth who often expressed his wish to visit Vrindavan.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances leading to his his death.
