Minor gives birth at TMH Jamshedpur, police start probe

Jamshedpur, May 7: A 17-year-old minor gave birth to a baby boy on Friday at TMH in Jamshedpur. Police  took place on the information about the case of a minor giving birth to a son and started questioning the family members. However, the relatives did not cooperate with the police and refused to tell anything to the police.

The police have registered an FIR against the unknown on the statement of the minor’s mother. The victim is a resident of Ramdev Bagan in Golmuri.

After the death of the husband, the mother works in the parlor and runs the house. In the interrogation by the police, neither the victim told anything nor her mother is telling anything.

The mother says that by the time she came to know that the daughter is pregnant, it was too late. After this, due to the fear of slander in the society, she took care of the daughter by keeping her at home. After having labor pains, she was taken to TMH on Friday where she gave birth to a son.

When the police questioned the mother about this, the mother said that she did not know whose act it was. On asking the daughter, she has also refused to tell anything. Now the biggest challenge before the police is to catch the accused. However, the police have started investigation by registering an FIR under Section 4 of POCSO and Section 376 of IPC.
