Jamshedpur: A case of gang-rape of a minor girl has come to light in a village under Manjhari police station area of West Singhbhum district. According to the information, three drunken youths raped the girl at a closed school building.
After raping the victim, the three accused slept there. The three men fell into a deep sleep after which the victim took out the mobile of a young man and fled from there. She narrated the incident to her family members.
As soon as the information was received, officer in-charge Ram Krishna Murmu rushed to the spot. The probe was later handed over to the station in-charge Vikram Tigga of Manjhari police station area. During interrogation, all the three accused confessed to the crime.
The three youths, Raja Biruva (28 years) resident of Badaranjhu of Manjhari police station area, Ankura Biruwa (32 years) resident of Tonto village and Rakesh Pinguwa (30 years) resident of Pokharia of Kumardungi block have been sent to jail.
The 16-year-old girl from Barbil, Odisha was living in a village under Manjhari police station area at her maternal uncle’s house for two months. On August 28, at the Guddi market in Lamjhari village, about two kilometers away from the village, she went to buy vegetables. An unknown young man came to her in the market and started talking. Following which three youths saw her and lured her to the school building located at a secluded place. The three youths raped her by intimidation.
