Minor bludgeoned to death a day after leaving jail at Uliyan

Jamshedpur, July 14: A 17 year-old boy was bludgeoned to death at Uliyan under Kadma police station area late Thursday night. The deceased was identified as Robin Gorai, a resident of Bhatia Bustee.

As per police, Robin himself was a murder accused and was lodged in a Chaibasa-based remand home after he was taken in custody by Rajnagar police. The assailant was identified as Bhanu Majhi, a resident of Farm Area, Kadma.

The officer in-charge of Kadma police station, RD Singh, said, �The murder appears to be the result of personal enmity between Robin and Bhanu Majhi. We are investigating the incident. However, as per initial probe, Robin who was released from a Chaibasa-based remand home on Wednesday was bludgeoned to death by Bhanu Majhi and his four or five associates at Ulyan late last night. We are investigating into the reason behind the enmity.

According to sources, both Robin and Bhanu used to get together till the April last year.

Sources further said that in April 2016, a 16-year-old boy, Bhola Thakur, who was a resident of Uliyan and a close friend of Bhanu, was found lying murdered at Rajnagar. Later the police detected the case by arresting Robin as he had got Bhola murdered by taking him away to Rajnagar.

After the murder, Bhanu had ended friendship with Robin and had vowed to avenge the murder of Bhola. The OC said the police was yet to crack the mystery behind the intimate relation between Bhola Thakur and Bhanu for which Bhanu killed Bhola’s assailant Robin.

The police have recovered the body and sent it to the MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem.
