Jamshedpur, February 29: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy has demanded that water from Chandil Dam should be given directly to Dimna Dam, through which water from the dam should be supplied to Jamshedpur and surrounding areas so that there is no problem in cleaning the water.
Roy has made this demand in the Assembly.
Seeing this demand, state minister Basant Soren has said that he will soon visit Jamshedpur himself and hold a meeting on this issue.
Saryu Roy said that water is supplied to Jamshedpur and surrounding areas from Dimna Dam. Apart from this, there is also Chandil Dam and Satnala Dam.
Minister Basant Soren said that Dimna Dam belongs to Tata Steel. For this reason, if Tata Steel wants, this can be done. The government has no problem in doing this.
On this, the MLA suggested to the Minister that if possible, a high level meeting should be held at the level of Tata Steel so that a permanent solution to the issue can be found.
On this, MLA Saryu Rai said that if the government wants, steps should definitely be taken so that the water problem can be solved in the coming summer. Minister Basant Soren assured that he would hold a high level meeting regarding this matter in Jamshedpur soon.
