Jamshedpur: 4 member team to probe theft at Jharkhand liquor shops

Ranchi, February 29: The state government has formed a committee regarding the incidents of theft in liquor shops of Ranchi and Jamshedpur.

This committee has been formed by the excise department, which will take information about the security system and will also find out if there is any scam behind it. The state government has given the contract for liquor security to a private company, which takes charge of the security after 10 pm. In return, the contract company GDX is paid Rs 18,000 per security personnel.

The company pays Rs 15,000 to a guard. But still thefts are happening continuously.

A four-member committee has been formed to find out why such incidents of theft are happening and whether there is some big conspiracy behind it. There are 170 liquor shops in Ranchi alone while about 150 shops are in Jamshedpur.
