Jamshedpur, March 14: Sri Shyam Nishan Yatra was organized in the city on Monday on the occasion of Ekadashi under the aegis of Sri Shyam Ratri Nishan Yatra Samiti. The procession started at Shiv Mandir, Sakchi, and culminated at Baikunth Dham Saat Mandir in Jugsalai. Hundreds of devotees of Lord Shyam participated in the programme. State health minister Banna Gupta also participated in the event.
Prior to taking out the procession, a group of priests first performed a puja followed by aarati. A ornamented chariot was prepared to carry Lord Shyam. The devotees carried flags from Sakchi to Jugsalai and offered it to Lord Shyam. Religious chants were heard throughout the procession.
At the conclusion of the procession, the devotees played Holi with flowers. Flower petals were thrown on the crowd by the organizers.
In the evening, jagran was organized at Jugsalai Shiv Mandir. Many devotees participated in the event. Many popular bhajan songs were sung in groups and solo. BJP leaders Gunjan Yadav, Abhay Singh and Dinesh Kumar also attended the programme.
