Ranchi. A hearing was held in the Jharkhand High Court on Wednesday regarding the issue of mining lease to Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren and his close associates. Hemant Soren’s wife Kalpana Soren and sister-in-law’s company Soharai Livestocks Pvt. Ltd. This is related to the allotment of 11 acres of land in Chanho under ST quota. On behalf of the CM, senior advocate Kapil Sibal said that a similar case against the CM has been dismissed by the Supreme Court, so this petition is not hearable.
On this, the applicant’s advocate Ajit Kumar informed the court that this petition is completely different from that petition. The counsel for the applicant sought time to give detailed information to the court. The next hearing of the case will be on October 11. Let us tell you that RTI activist and advocate Sunil Mahato has filed a public interest litigation in the Jharkhand High Court regarding the mining lease allocation case, which was heard in the court on Wednesday.
During the hearing, advocate Kapil Sibal joined the virtual medium on behalf of CM Hemant Soren and presented his argument. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal cited the decision of the Supreme Court in which the PIL filed in a similar case regarding CM Hemant Soren has been rejected. In fact, the PIL which was rejected in the Supreme Court against CM Hemant Soren was also related to the allotment of mining lease to CM Hemant Soren and his close ones.
In that case, questions were raised on the credentials of petitioner Shiv Shankar Sharma. It was told to the court that the relationship with the applicant Shivshankar Sharma and the Soren family is not cordial and in this context such a petition has been filed to harass. However, in this case hearing was also held in Jharkhand High Court on several dates. Later the matter went to the Supreme Court where it was dismissed.
During the hearing in the Jharkhand High Court on Wednesday, CM’s advocate Kapil Sibal mentioned the same petition dismissed in the Supreme Court, but the applicant’s advocate Ajit Kumar told the court that this petition is different from that and he asked to present the documents related to it in the court. time is sought. The next hearing of the case will be on October 15.
