IMD predicts temperature fluctuations and foggy conditions
Jamshedpur, Jan 7: The minimum temperature in Jamshedpur rose by 1.5 degrees on Sunday, reaching 11.2°C, while the maximum temperature crossed 26°C, providing some respite from the chilly weather. The city experienced bright sunshine throughout the day, allowing residents to enjoy the pleasant conditions.
With Sunday being a holiday, many locals took advantage, gathering in Jubilee Park to bask in the sun. Families and groups were seen relaxing, making the most of the sunny day after a series of cooler mornings.
The Meteorological Department has forecast that similar weather conditions will persist throughout the week. Temperatures are expected to fluctuate slightly, but no major changes are anticipated.
The sunny spells are a welcome relief for residents as the region transitions through the winter season.
According to the center, minimum temperatures are expected to gradually rise by 2-3°C over the next two days. However, a significant drop of 2-4°C is likely during the subsequent three days, bringing cooler conditions back to the region.
Shallow to moderate fog is expected in isolated areas between January 5 and January 7, with dense fog predicted for some regions on January 5 and January 6. The dense fog may lead to reduced visibility, potentially affecting road and rail traffic during the early morning and late-night hours.
Despite the temperature variations and fog, the state is likely to experience dry weather over the next week, with no significant rainfall or thunderstorms reported. The weather distribution has remained dry across Jharkhand in the past 24 hours, maintaining stable conditions for outdoor activities.
“Residents are advised to prepare for fluctuating temperatures and to exercise caution during periods of dense fog, especially while traveling during early mornings or late evenings. The Meteorological Centre will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary. This forecast underscores the need for layered clothing to adapt to the changing weather and vigilance during foggy conditions to ensure safety on the roads,” said an official.
