Jamshedpur, March 28: Claiming a majorbreakthrough, Excise Department here busted a mini liquor factory that was being run illegally in Babudih locality of Sidgora police station area on Tuesday. The raid was carried out on the instructions of East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav, sources said. The officials recovered spurious liquor worth more than Rs 3 lakh. They also recovered raw materials used in manufacturing spurious liquor besides seizing a scooty.

Giving information in this regard, Praveen Kumar Rana, Inspector of Excise Department, said the department was continuously getting secret information about a illegal mini liquor factory being operated in Babudih Basti. Soon a team was set up on the instructions of senior officials to raid the factory, he said.
The main operator of the factory managed to escape, leaving behind his scooty. The campaign against liquor will continue in the days to come, officials said.
