Milanee Hall completes 101 years

Jamshedpur: The Milanee auditorium at Bistupur completes 101 years on Wednesday. To mark the occasion a colorful cultural event was organized which was inaugurated by Shekar Dey.

Kolkata-based Payal and Dance Group presented dance events in front of the appreciating audience. The Milanee felicitated Purbi Ghosh, Subhra Das, Sharmila Pal, Bulbul Ghosh, Tapasi Karanjai, Soma Bhaumik and Chayanika Manna for their contributions in the realm of social and cultural initiatives.

Cultural enthusiasts had established Dramatic Club in 1914 under the leadership of its founder Shanti Ram Chakraborty.

Under his leadership the organization grew to a greater height and more people joined the organization. Later the Club was renamed as Milanee Hall, informed Raju Dutta, secretary of the Milanee.
